El programa SAJU 2025 surge como una evolución del proyecto "Domitila Corresponsable", desarrollado desde 2022 por la Asociación Domitila Hernández. Lo que comenzó como una respuesta a la necesidad de conciliación familiar ha evolucionado para responder a una realidad más amplia y estructural que afecta a la juventud canaria: el aislamiento social, la falta de espacios de participación activa, el deterioro del bienestar emocional, la desigualdad de oportunidades, y la necesidad de educación en valores democráticos, sociales y medioambientales.
